    Lithium Dodecyl Sulfate, Dust-Free

    $76.90 - $469.92

Lithium Dodecyl Sulfate, Dust-FreeTM (syn: LDS) is an anionic, negatively-charged detergent and surfactant. The pellet format of this product prevents aerosolized dust from forming for added safety, and prevention of flammability. LDS is a common component of lysis buffer. The product can be used for synthesis of nanomaterials and chromatography. It can also be used for proteomics since it can be used to solubilize membrane proteins under non-denaturing conditions.

Mechanism of Action Lithium Dodecyl Sulfate (LDS) is an anionic detergent and surfactant. It can be used to induce changes in protein conformation.
    Electrophoresis Applications

LDS is suitable for gel electrophoresis applications in cold conditions as a substitute for sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) when performing SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE).

Detection of low-copy-number gene products is essential for the development of novel compounds.  The study of cytosolic proteins by preparative electrophoresis performed in the presence of 0.1% lithium dodecyl sulfate and low-abundance proteins, which had not been found before, including neuronal-specific and calcium-binding proteins.

    Solubility Soluble in water.
