Hygromycin B ReadyMade™ Solution (50 mg/ml in PBS Buffer) is a sterile solution of Hygromycin B, a unique aminoglycoside antibiotic derived from Streptomyces hygroscopicus routinely used as a selective agent in cell culture or to isolate Hygromycin B resistant cells after transfection or transformation, respectively. This water-soluble compound was developed in the 1950s for use an an anthelmintic and can be used to study protein synthesis at the level of the 70S ribosome.
