Valnemulin Hydrochloride is a synthetic pleuromutilin antibiotic used in veterinary research, forensics and toxicology. Valnemulin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the peptidyl transferase enzyme in the 50S ribosomal subunit.
Valnemulin is freely soluble in aqueous solution.
Mechanism of Action | Valnemulin inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria by binding to the peptidyl transferase component of the 50S subunit of ribosomes. |
Spectrum | Valnemulin primarily targets Mycoplasmas responsible for bovine respiratory infections. |
Molecular Formula | C31H52N2O5S •HCl |
