Omeprazole is an antacid compound which inhibits H+K+ ATPase and Carbonic Anyhdrase; both of which are responsible for gastric acid secretion. Omeprazole is sparingly soluble in water (0.823 mg/mL).

Applications

    Eukaryotic Cell Culture Applications

    Omeprazole can be used in in vitro experiments when used against purified Carbonic Anhydrase and ATPase. Inhibitory effects of omeprazole against purified CA become apparent when used at 10-8 M and higher concentrations.
