    Econazole Nitrate

    $65.00 - $615.00

Econazole Nitrate is an imidazole antimycotic agent similar to ketoconazole.  The compound targets the fungal cell membrane. It can be used as an analytical standard.  Econazole Nitrate is practically insoluble in water.

Mechanism of Action Econazole Nitrate increases cell permeability by inhibiting enzymes involved in ergosterol synthesis. The permeability has toxic effects and leads to fungal cell death.
Spectrum Econazole Nitrate targets fungi responsible for tinea (ringworm) especially Trichophyton and Microsporum.  It also targets Gram-positive bacteria.
    Molecular Formula C18H15Cl3N2O · HNO3
