neo (kanr, nptII)

neo is a commonly exploited gene that produces the protein, aminoglycoside 3"-phosphotransferase (Kanamycin kinase, type II or Neomycin-kanamycin phosphotransferase type II) which confers resistance to kanamycin, neomycin, and other aminoglycoside antibiotics.
