    Mechanism of Action

    Miconazole increases cell permeability by inhibiting enzymes involved in ergosterol synthesis. The increase of permeability has a toxic effect on the fungi and leads to cell death.

    Spectrum

    Miconazole targets fungi that cause tinea (ringworm) especially Trichophyton species.
