    $77.00 - $175.00

Sulfadoxine is a sulfonamide antibiotic frequently used for the treatment of malaria and bacteria that cause urinary and respiratory tract infections. Sulfadoxine is also routinely used in combination for malaria infections when used in combination with pyrimethamine. Sulfadoxine is soluble in water and ethanol: 0.296 mg/mL and 20mg/mL respectively.

Mechanism of Action Like most sulfonamides, sulfadoxine inhibits folic acid synthesis by acting as a competitive inhibitor of dihydropteroate synthetase, an enzyme found in the folic acid synthesis pathway.
Spectrum Sulfadoxine is a broad spectrum antibiotic targeting a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
    Molecular Formula C12H14N4O4S
