  • Description

    Anisomycin is a sparingly soluble (2 mg/mL) protein synthesis inhibiting antibiotic produced by Streptomyces griseolus. Anisomycin targets eukaryotic cells and is not effective against bacteria (prokaryotes).

    Mechanism of Action

    Anisomycin inhibits protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells by inhibiting peptidyl-transferase activity in the 60S subunit of the 80S ribosome.
